FEDERAL RECORDS STORAGE SERVICES

The time for CFR compliance is now.
On October 1, 2009 certain regulations for storage facilities that contain federal records will take effect. Codified along with other rules in 36 CFR 1228 Subpart K, the "2009 Regulations" outline certain requirements for all federal records storage facilities, including NARA-operated Federal Records Centers, agency-operated storage facilities, and commercial facilities.

These 2009 Regulations apply to all records centers containing federal records, regardless of size.

The clock is ticking. You need a plan.
As a result of this deadline, all federal agency headquarters and their regional offices, as well as all federal contractors to those agencies, must have a plan in place to ensure that their records management programs and records storage providers are compliant with these requirements by October 1, 2009.

You have a choice.
